Frequently Asked Questions
• Who is Paul Lockaby?
Paul Lockaby is, as of June 2007, a software engineer for a
mid-sized government contractor based outside of Washington, D.C.,
and an alumnus of Virginia Tech.
I enjoy working with computers, and it's what I do for a living.
I enjoy photography, and I have a whole bunch of photos
posted around here somewhere. I enjoy
hiking, and you might find a few pictures of that, along with
directions to some of my favorite hikes around here, too. Anything
beyond this is pure speculation, and I can neither confirm, nor
deny its veracity.
• How do I contact you?
You can try the special form I built expressly for that purpose,
and is located here. I don't like to give
out other information about myself, such as phone numbers,
screennames, or email addresses, because I really don't like being
randomly contacted by random people through modes of communication
generally reserved for my close friends. This does not mean I do
not want to hear from you! But, really, I'm very awkward on instant
messenger and the phone, and I don't like spam.
• May I use one of your photos on my website, publication, etc.?
Every photo on my website is owned and copyrighted by myself, and
sometimes another organization for whom I was working. This means
that no photo you see may be copied, distributed, linked to, or
otherwised use without my express permission.
However, that does not mean you cannot use the photo. If you do wish to use a photo you find on this website, please contact me with the name of the photo, a link to the photo, who you are, and what you wish to do with the photo and I will tell you how you may use the photo.

• What happened to Smarty-Light?
I was emailed in October 2005 by Monte Orht, the maintainer of
Smarty, asking that I change the name of my software so that they
may protect their trademark. Since at the same time I was growing
frustrated with limitations imposed by the Smarty-Light engine and
looking to explore extreme changes in its syntax, I volunteered,
under no pressure from the maintainers of Smarty, and without
debating the merits to their request, to cease development and
support of Smarty-Light.
You can still download the latest version of Smarty-Light that I maintained from this website. The documentation is maintained inside the zip file. However, if you are looking for support, two different people have forked my code. First we have Flat-Frog, and then we have Template Lite. Take your pick, I don't endorse either one.
